I live in San Francisco, and we are not well know for our built-in resistance to what is often referred to as “weather” . Almost everyday of the year the weather is about 63 degrees, and partly cloudy; however, for the last two weeks we have had positively scorching weather. With temperatures blazing into the mid-eighties (I told you, we don’t cope with weather well) I felt the need to find some appropriately sunny music, and lo and behold, along comes Lake. “Blue Ocean Blue” a recently released single from the forth coming album (Oct. 21st to be exact), “Oh, The Places We’ll Go”, aptly epitomizes the elemental qualities of summer. From its marine based title to the bright breezy melodies, “Blue Ocean Blue” is an immediately addictive track that will have you bouncing along with Lake and their smartly crafted, organic, pop delights. If you too are feeling the last squeeze of summer, don’t fight it, just listen to “Blue Ocean Blue”, pull up a chair, and maybe take up whittling.
