Birds & Batteries- The Villain

Downloadable • Thursday October 8th, 2009 • 12:28 pm

From the outset of “The Villain” Birds & Batteries craft a aural product that turns one on their ear. Continually augmenting the overall sound of the ensemble, this electro-pop outfit from San Francisco dabble in a little bit of this and a dash of that as they combine bouncing guitar riffs with acoustic percussion. This straight forward sonic palette is then further developed by the resounding synth-bass lines that give this latest track and unexpectedly modern sound. Evoking pop, electronic, and folk influences (there is even a tease of “Man Of Constant Sorrow” thrown in for good measure), Birds & Batteries have more than just a few surprises in store for the listener. Look for a new EP from the Bay Area quartet, due out November 17th on Eightmaps Records.

Hey Gregory,
Thanks for posting about the new Birds & Batteries EP! Glad you’ve enjoyed it. Where are you based? We tour a bit, so hopefully we can be in touch if we’re in your neighborhood.
Best,
Mike
