All good things must come to an end and for Black Tambourine that end came way back in 1991. Despite not existing as a band for almost two decades, the lingering fuzz of their reverb drenched guitars still echos faintly in the periphery, and their surreptitious influence has helped to mold the sounds of zeitgeist riding zealots such as Wavves, No Age, and Vivian Girls whether these bands know it or not. Now thanks to Slumberland Records, we can all experience a bit of Black Tambourine’s signature crunch and gain a new understanding of our current locale in today’s music culture via a collection of the departed bands catalogue. The self-titled collection of tracks is due out March 30, and in the mean time, give this a listen.
