Githead-Landing

Anybody with any familiarity of British slang will giggle and immediately know why the little boy in me wanted to post a track from a band named Githead, but it’s more than that. Landing is the third album from a band that includes: Colin Newman (of Wire), Malka Spigel and Max Franken (of Minimal Compact), and Robin Rimbaud (Scanner). An amazing collaboration to say the least.

Grinding guitar and driving rhythm back up the spacey vocal track on “Landing,” both creating somewhat of a drone that carries through the song. There is a very Wire-style melody but it’s more than that. It’s got a shoegaze element, but it’s more than that. It’s a bloody brilliant track that you will want to listen to again and again.
