We live in a recycle crazy time. Joining similar musicians on the Illegal Art label, Junk Culture adds his mix to the mix with his debut West Coast at the end of October. Junk Culture is actually Deepak Mantena (but that doesn’t sound as cool. This is the title track and if the rest of the album is this hot it will go good with cider sipping. It starts out with a somewhat annoying repetitive vocal noise. By the skipped record keyboard you start to get the idea that it’s all the song is going to be but then it shifts…into a repeated female vocalization. It’s actually somewhat reminiscent of an Orbital track the way sounds are used to induce a certain frame of consciousness. Just a warning a head of time, for those expecting an actual song you may be disappointed. For those that can appreciate music as meditation you’ll find this quite interesting.
