What once began as an open forum love letter to the old hometown of lead vocalist Nils Edenloff’s has bloomed into so much more. Eldenloff began writing the songs that comprise the majority of The Rural Alberta Advantage’s catalogue after having moved away from Alberta in favour of Toronto. The move inspired a wave of homesickness and thanks to the old adage, Eldenoff’s heart grew fonder and we (the listening public that is) received a beautiful full-length record commemorating the lead singer’s old home. Crisp and clean percussion earmarks the opening of “Don’t Haunt This Place” and soon the graceful harmonies of Eldenoff and Amy Cole solidify an enticing melody above the textured foundation of synths and strings. The Canadian trio have just recently added a string of new tour dates to their schedule, and their debut record is available now via Saddle creek records.
