The Show Is The Rainbow-Roar Means Run

Ok, so it’s not quite Friday’s post but it is close enough. Perfect for today’s song, “Roar Means Run,” as it is full of not quite but close enough. Not quite nerdcore hip hop but rather nerdy and hoppy, not quite silly but definitely goofy, not quite rock and roll but definitely rocking. It’s from The Show is the Rainbow’s new album Wet Fist on the Retard Disco label. Taking all the names in the last sentence into consideration you can figure out what you’re in for without even hitting play. It almost feels like early Beck at a neo-rave on Nitrous Oxide. The Show is the Rainbow (what’s up with all these long Rainbow names?) is one man who would have us believe that he is “a Siamese jock.” Later he states, “nothing makes sense to anyone but me…soon I’m chewing pillows and napkins and carpets.” Huh? You’re right it doesn’t make sense but when did that stop anyone? Since when did making sense have anything to do with a good song? Certainly not in this case.
