Zechs Marquise- Chase Scene

No, this isn’t The Mars Volta, but you’re close. Actually, there are a couple of the Rodriguez-Lopez brothers (Marcel, of The Mars Volta, and Marfred), however despite the unrestrained aggression with which they attack their music, the similarities (and member overlaps) end here. Zechs Marquise are set to release their second full-length in August, and from the sound of their currently released tracks, the album promises to be a continual onslaught of piercing guitars, rock-steady groove laden bass lines, skillfully manipulated keys, and precision percussion. No words here but hey, who needs em’ right? “Chase Scene” opens with drums that evoke the hot pursuit indicated in the title, delving directly into a shredding guitar riff, which is then transferred over to the vaguely psychedelic keys. All in all, an impressive installment of precise musicianship that serves to only whet appetites till August!
