Dntel’s “Life Is Full of Possibilities” to be Reissued By Sub Pop

The breakout success of the Postal Service’s sole album, 2003′s Give Up, was probably due to the ubiquitous presence of Death Cab for Cutie frontman, Ben Gibbard. However, there’s no discounting the contribution of producer Jimmy Tamborello, whose alternately mournful and frantic electro-pop compositions provided the perfect sonic bed for Gibbard’s romantic musings. Give Up became Sub Pop’s second best-selling record of their history. The seed of that tremendously successful project originated on Tamborello’s glitch-pop masterpiece, Life is Full of Possibilities, released under the name Dntel, which featured guest vocals from Gibbard on “(This is) The Dream Of Evan and Chan.”

Life is Full of Possibilities was initially released in 2001 on Plug Research, but Tamborello’s a Sub Pop man now, and Sub Pop will be handling the expanded tenth anniversary reissue. Full details are not available yet, but the two-disc edition will include a remastered version of the original album, as well as outtakes, b-sides, remixes, etc. (you know the drill). There will also be a double-LP version, which will feature the remastered version across two 45s, and will include a download card for all of the other extra material. Get pumped about this by checking out the “(This Is) The Dream Of Evan and Chan” video below, as well as some Dntel tour dates.
