New Single, Psychedelic Artwork from the Black Lips (NSFW, Sorta)

The Black Lips, when they’re not busy getting in fights or getting in fights and even occasionally getting in fights, make some pretty ramshackle, fiery rock ‘n roll. Fortunately, they’ve put their pugilistic skills aside (for now) and recorded some new music for all of us to hear. Their latest single, “Modern Art,” suggests that there shouldn’t be any real surprises on their upcoming album, Arabia Mountain. It’s a typical, two-minute blast of old-fashioned garage rock from the Atlanta-based batch of troublemakers, and plenty enjoyable for being just that. You can download it here or here.

You can also check out the cover for Arabia Mountain above, though the topless woman in the background should prevent you from lingering on the photo for too long, depending on your surroundings. Otherwise, there’s nothing too offensive in there, unless trippy mosaics and four guys in affected, strong-silent-type poses bother you, for some reason.
