I was nervous about the new album, but it quickly took hold of me. A lot of people are taking Mercer to task for various silly things–not evolving his sound, or evolving too much. To me, it’s a near-perfect progression. Nothing earth-shattering, but, at the end of the day, some great songs. Although, “Taken for a Fool” may be my least favorite, so far.
