The Flaming Lips Re-Release Record Store Day Exclusive Album

Every year Record Store Day brings us music fans some great special releases, but unfortunately most of these end up in the “exclusive” category. If you miss out the first time around, chances are you won’t find a copy unless it’s on eBay for some astronomical price.

Due to popular demand, The Flaming Lips have decided to release their RSD album The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends to the general public. The album was sold out almost instantly in April, most likely due to the eclectic list of collaborative artists backing the Flaming Lips on this record. A quick scan of the names involved is intriguing to say the least. Yoko Ono, Ke$ha, Bon Iver. It’s not hard to see why the record was in such high demand. It just screams “I’ve got to know what the hell this sounds like”

Well now is your chance. On June 26th, Warner Bros. Records will be giving the album a wide release in digital and physical formats. If you’ve always wanted to know what a Biz Markie/Flaming Lips mash up would sound like, now’s your chance to find out.
