Flugente-It’s Not Just The Summer That’s Ending

on .

It’s not too often that I post simple guy and his guitar folk music here, but it definitely is a style that has a part in the broad river of my musical taste. I found a personal resonance in this track that struck me on a number of levels not the least of which was the writing. Flugente’s “It’s Not Just The Summer That’s Ending” has a sound that’s similar to Simon and Garfunkle (minus Garfunkle.) There is an honest vulnerability in his voice and his lyrics which are, as any good lyrics of this form, pure poetry. There’s human weakness here, and strength. Sadness and hopefulness. In short, an honest song about the human condition (as all good examples of the form are.)
