Rothbury 2009: Jour Trois

Even with sets like Zappa Plays Zappa, Les Claypool, Black Crowes and The Dead, I don’t think anything will top day two as far as we’re discussing good vibes. Again, Girl Talk put on a helluva show. Broken Social Scene was a good time, Flogging Molly blew up with crazed fans, and again, Girl Talk ended the night perfectly with a set that lasted nearly an hour after the declared, “We only have a couple of more minutes…”. The kids just wouldn’t go home.

Day three however, is the day when, apparently, everyone settles into the music festival vibe- the artistic styles of day 1 and 2 have given way to anything that doesn’t smell,  and smeared, day-old body paint. Zappa next, but the noodling jam band will probably send us tout suite to Black Crowes for some feeler gooder radio classics.

Stay Tuned…
